Let your light shine!

Happy Friday everyone!  We are enjoying cooler weather today after a 3 day heat wave.  YAY!

I am writing today to share a layout that I made for the current "Off the Rails Scrapbooking" challenge.  This month's challenge is to use the following mood board for inspiration:
In addition, the challenge asks you to use more than one photo.

I am also linking my page to this month's Art Journal Journey challenge:

Their theme this month is "Cirlces."

I was inspired by the gorgeous browns, the beautiful blues, the distressed white paint, and the amazing light pictured in the Off the Rails mood board. And I used chipboard circles attached to my mason jars for the AJJ challenge.

Here is my take:

With a different angle:

The photos were taken of Anne in August of 2013.  This layout was made with my heart to my youngest daughter.  My handwritten journaling reads as follows:

Anne, always remember that you can be whatever you want to be!  Just let your beautiful inner light shine for the world to see!

Thank you, "Off the Rails Scrapbooking" and "Art Journal Journey" for inspiring me once again to make a scrapbook page!  I loved working with the beautiful mood board and the circles!!!

And thank YOU for stopping by my blog.  Have a happy, scrappy weekend.

Happy!

Good Morning everyone!  I hope you are all enjoying your June so far!

Today I would like to share a layout I made for the new Challenge YOUrself challenge!!

This month's challenge is about being inspired by art:

I love this cool work of art - it's by an artist by the name of Tang Yau Hoong and it's called "Journey to the City of no Horizon."  You can check out more about him here!

My take:

I used a photo of John and I standing in Central Park when we celebrated our anniversary last year!  You have to look closely to see us, but we are there!!!  As you can see by the bare trees and our coats, it's always cold in NYC in early March.   I was inspired by the city buildings, the clouds, and the body of water in the challenge work of art.

Here is a close up so you can see John and me a little better:

And a different view:

I truly enjoyed making this page.

I started by using my new Pinkfresh paper as my background:

. . . and fussy cut my buildings and taxis from this paper:

. . . and my clouds and frame around my photo are from this American Crafts set of thickers:

The little hearts and happy title were from this set of puffy stickers:

Easy Peasy!!!  I completed this layout in no time at all!

I hope you take a minute to check out Challenge YOUrself!  It would be GREAT if you participated in this month's challenge, too.  You have a random chance to win this amazing prize:

It's a 130 piece project life kit!!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today!  Happy Scrapping!

Dream!

Good Morning everyone!  Today I am feeling a little under the weather - both my husband and I got colds this past weekend.  But it is a little better this morning!!

I would like to share one more scrapbook page that I made this month.  This one is for the current Off the Rails Scrapbooking challenge:

This month they have a beautiful and very cool mood board:
I just missed the deadline for submitting my layout, but I decided to post it here anyway :)  Here is my take:

I was inspired by the beautiful teal color, the amazing black accents, and the feathers!

Here is a different view:

Thank you, Off the Rails Scrapbooking, for inspiring me to scrap this photo of Anne that I love so much.  She was reading one of her favorite books at the time.  She has always struggled with reading, so the fact that she found a series of books that she loved reading was wonderful!!!

I hope you all had a wonderful May.  We are looking forward to June and hopefully seeing the sun soon:

Hugs!!!

Hello!

Hi everyone!  I am enjoying this summer-like weather we are having today!  My hope is that you are all having nice weather, too!  (I know it isn't going to last, but I love it!!)

I wanted to make a layout with a photo that I found of Katie and Anne from Spring of 2014:

I took it outside the library in Bethlehem on a beautiful Spring day and just love it!

I found a great challenge to participate in at Scrap our Stash:

Here's their May Tic Tac Toe Stash Challenge:

I picked the middle row, across, and used the color yellow, clouds, and a paper clip!

Here is my page:

I used the color yellow in splatters on my background, and the flower and chicks.  My paper clip has the work "hello" on it, and my clouds are sewn on my page.

Here is a close up:

What fun I had making this layout for Scrap our Stash!  Thank you for the inspiration!!

Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone!  Happy Scrapping!!

A Mother's Love!

Good Morning fellow scrappers!  I hope this day finds you full of creativity!

Today I would like to share a layout that I made for the May challenge at More than Words:

Word Inspiration - MOTHER
Creative Challenge - FLOWERS

This challenge asks you to incorporate both the word inspiration (Mother)
and the creative challenge (Flowers) in your pages.

I have been inspired by my mother my whole life, and as a mother, I hope to inspire my daughters as well.  I found a wonderful photo of my mother, my sister, and me from 1958. I was almost 2 at the time and my sister was 8.  This picture is one of my favorites of all time!  I love the way my mother is looking at me and holding my hand.  And I love how Cathy is looking on at us. The interesting part is that this photo was taken at the Rose Garden . . . it couldn't be more perfect for this "mother-flower" challenge!!

Here is my completed layout
:
With a close-up of  my hand written journaling:

And a different view:

I really enjoyed making this layout and am so happy for the inspiration from More than Words.
Thank you!

And thank you so much for stopping by my blog today.  Have a great one!
Happy Scrapping!!

Together . . . always!

Good afternoon everyone!

Since I am retired, I have found that I have more time to do the things that I enjoy most.  One of them is scrapping.  I can't believe how much I have enjoyed scrapping again!

I came across an amazing challenge blog entitled CSI:  Color, Stories, Inspiration!

Each monthly challenge is set up just like a CSI investigation.  So cool!  I was totally drawn in.
As I read the "law and order" section, I found that you choose 3 (or more) items from the evidence clues, 1 item from the testimony clues, and create a layout based on the sketch and color scheme.

This month's first "Case File" is as follows:

The scheme:
I truly loved using these colors!

The sketch:

Here is my take on this month's investigation:

My evidence: I used plain white cardstock as my background.
I also used an xoxo banner, clouds, flowers, an arrow, puffy stickers, and word/phrase stickers, too.

My testimony: I used "repetition" as follows:

Time is flying by so quickly.
We just celebrated Easter with our daughters, my sister, brother-in-law, and my mom.
It was wonderful, but I felt a little sad after everyone left.
I think this holiday showed me just how much time has passed and everyone is getting older.
I remember holidays in the past when we celebrated with both entire families.
My mom and grandmother would cry when it was time to leave.
I never really understood how they felt until now.
Time flies . . .

Here is a close up:

And a different view:

I made this page reflecting how our family celebrates the holidays and how our family gatherings have changed and evolved as time goes by.  I sometimes feel a little sad when I think about how things have changed over the years. But at the end of the day, I know that we will still get together and celebrate, no matter now small.  And I am very happy about that!

Thank you so much, CSI for the inspiration!  I am so glad that I found your creative blog.  It was fun!!!

And thank YOU for stopping by my gallery today.
